Hey, I’m Subbu — Founder at PurpleChalk.
My background isn’t the usual “agency guy” story. I started out in the world of banking, worked my way through retail and logistics, dabbled in fashion and eCommerce — and somewhere along the way, I realised what I really loved: building things that work and look damn good doing it.
PurpleChalk came from that itch. I wanted to create a space where brands could get the kind of strategy, design, and digital support they actually need — not just jargon and templates. Today, we’re a full-service creative agency helping brands grow with clarity, style, and zero fluff.
I’ve been at this for over 20 years. I bring structure to chaos, simplify the complex, and help businesses figure out not just how to look good online — but how to actually sell, scale, and stay relevant.
Whether it’s a startup figuring out its first product drop, or a legacy brand trying to reinvent its presence — I get into the depths, I ask the hard questions, and I help them move forward.
When I'm not immersed in client projects, I enjoy exploring new technologies, mentoring budding entrepreneurs, and indulging in my interests in fashion, fitness, and cinema.
Depends on the day! Some mornings start with deep-dives into brand positioning and strategy calls, and by afternoon, I might be reviewing a Shopify build, reworking campaign copy, or giving feedback on packaging layouts. I’m somewhere between left-brain clarity and right-brain chaos — and honestly, I love that balance.
I gravitate towards brands that are in transition — starting out, scaling up, or trying to rediscover themselves. I especially love working with D2C, fashion, lifestyle, and retail-focused businesses. If you’ve got a solid product and a messy story, that’s my sweet spot.
When a client sees their brand come together — and finally feels like them. I love helping people make sense of their own ideas, find their voice, and build systems that make growth feel natural (not chaotic). Also, I’ll never not get excited about a clean landing page with a killer CTA.
Seeing what others miss. I love identifying bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and missed opportunities—especially in sales and customer experience. I also enjoy simplifying the complex and turning scattered ideas into executable strategies.
Retention. Anyone can sell once. I care about what brings people back.
Consistency. Across design, messaging, experience, and delivery.
Running ads without fixing your website. Or worse—without knowing your margins.
Early mornings, strong filter coffee, and time spent offline.
Watching films—everything from Tamil classics to international cinema. And yes, I’ll probably relate your brand story to a movie plot at some point

That I started in corporate banking. Or that I once spent more time building logistics frameworks than discussing hashtags, websites and strategies
